re: that last one - The s600 and the s2000...is a stretch. The real successor to the S600 is the S660
Though I really don’t care other than as to have an excuse to post the S660

I would argue the S660 is the successor to the Beat.

The S660 has a transverse engine, right?
The S600/800 were longitudinal engines.
The Beat was transverse engine.

If only Mazda weren’t the only ones making cars that are as small as or smaller than their predecessors...

I’m fully expecting them to fuck it up.
I’d be damned surprised if the next one still has 6-cylinders, is a 2+2 coupe, isn’t turbocharged, or some form of hybrid whatever.
Just make another 300zx, Nissan.

Rumors keep saying a turbo I4, but Nissan has a history of offering both I4 and V6 engines in a lot of their vehicles, so a NISMO Z could have a V6.

If you can't get a base Z with a 6 cylinder anymore and have to spend more for the NISMO to get the 6, then it's dead to me. After the ST, I'll never have a new 4-pot car again, I don't care how much power it makes or the torque, it'll sound like crap and no exhaust is gonna fix that.

I should take a picture of my 240Z next to my co worker’s 350Z. It unbelievable.

The 370Z should get a pass. Coming from the 350Z, it lost weight, while gaining power & torque, improved the suspension, and was given base brakes comparable to the older car’s Brembo upgrade. When do successors ever lose weight, much less do so while gaining in every other area?
